Hmmm…Coffee. Whoever said ‘Love makes the world go round’ obviously didn’t need black gold to get his day going. Nothing makes an early wake-up call more bearable than a steaming cup of caffeine. That being said, I’m kind of a coffee snob insomuch as I’m definitely not a bad-coffee-is-better-than-no-coffee drinker. No day old or instant granules for me, thank you. That’s why I am positively in love with Keurig. I’ll admit, I rolled my eyes when I first saw my mom’s deluxe edition. Really, such a contraption for a simple cup of java? Yes. The answer is yes.
The exact portion, the exact flavor, the exact moment I want it. I’m pretty sure they have Keurigs in heaven. And as much as I enjoy a great cup of coffee, what actually sold me and sent me on the hunt for my very own dream machine was the Chai Latte tea that is so good, my mouth is watering as I write this. A highlight, in fact, is trying new K-Cups. Extra bold, breakfast blend, mudslide…it’s like a trip to an ice cream store where I can try all the flavors totally guilt-free. (Not sure where to begin? Just ask your Facebook friends. They’ll be glad to tell you their favs!)
My parents drink coffee like they need to pull an all-nighter. I need one good cup a day, and that’ll do me, so I settled for a smaller Keurig, and couldn’t be happier with my choice. In case you’re a customer-review junkie, here’s the comparison breakdown.
My parents' Keurig B60 Homebrewing System constantly keeps a reservoir of warm water at the ready for multiple cups instantly. They love it. My Keurig MINI Plus Brewing System requires me to fill it each time with water, but sans reservoir, it has a smaller countertop footprint and environmental footprint as well, since it’s not heating water unnecessarily. Adding the water and waiting on it to heat takes approximately 45 additional seconds; I can handle the wait. The same K-Cups work in all machines. If you’re not able to find the homegrown roasts you love or recycle the plastic cups locally, a handy K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter is just what you need. And the K-Cup Carousel keeps them tidy and available. (Plus a game of caffeinated Russian roulette in the morning proves variety really is the spice of life.)
As for the cost, if time is money, the Keurig is money well spent (or time well saved!) Time notwithstanding, the happiness it brings to have so many choices instantly on hand is Keurig-inspired heaven. Cheers. Shall I wait for your cup to brew?
