For the purposes of this post, I will break down the three fundamental aspects of the swing that create power and consistency, as well as the reasons for adopting this attitude, which has contributed to the success of several MLB hitters, including Aaron Judge and Mike Trout.

Other factors that contribute to being behind the ball include pushing out the front shoulder, pulling the head, drifting forward with the head, attempting to pull the ball, overstriding, and failing to rotate the rear leg.

As soon as the ball reaches the swing zone, the right approach to get behind it is universally recognized. This is something that all excellent hitters accomplish, but from a variety of postures.

3) Lower Body Coil

4) K Posture Drill

The K-Posture Practice is the final drill in our series of baseball hitting drills for power, and it is the most difficult. A bat, a tee, a ball, and an aslant board will be required for this activity. Muscle memory of what a good launch position should feel like will be created with the k-posture exercise. This drill incorporates full turns, timing, and lower body coils, which is essentially everything we’ve been working on throughout this post thus far. To begin this drill, set the slant board at a steeper inclination – around 45 degrees – to allow the batter to feel the right load position when hitting.

The rear leg should be at the top of the board, and the weight in this swing should be exerted into the back leg, as shown in the illustration.

Explode off the slant board and charge towards the baseball with all of your might. Take note of how the hitter’s rear foot is off the board in the picture below. He is flipped onto his front side, allowing all of the tension that had built up in the burden to be released.
