Texas Baseball: Game vs. Virginia in CWS delayed due to weather

The start that the collegiate baseball landscape had hoped for in the match between the No. 2 rated Texas Longhorns and the No. 6 ranked Virginia Cavaliers on the night of June 24 in Omaha did not materialize. Originally scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. CT, the first pitch between Texas and Virginia will be pushed back by at least 30-45 minutes as a result of the adverse weather in Omaha. Because of the inclement weather that swept into Omaha, the start time for this game was pushed back around 10-15 minutes before the scheduled first pitch time.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement, informing people of the presence of a “strong thunderstorm over Springfield, about 12 miles southwest of Omaha, heading northeast at 20 mph.” “Half-inch hail and winds above 40 mph are both probable with this storm,” the forecast says.

Texas baseball vs. Virginia experiencing weather delay in Omaha

If the particular meteorological statement proves to be accurate in any way, the game might be in peril until at least 7:45 p.m. Central Time on Sunday. The first time AccuWeather displays Omaha as having less than a 50 percent probability of thunderstorms in the hourly forecast is at 9 p.m. Central Time. On the basis of current information, Texas may see a start time that is at least a couple of hours later than scheduled. But for now, we’ll simply have to keep an eye on this developing drama from the NCAA and the College World Series host city of Omaha.
